Thanks for the helpful comment Jeff. It just was so strange to see Lara not swim “her” race in the 50 free. It just did not look like her at all. And she was very disappointed after. She needs a little more time to heal, then she will be ready when the time is right for greatness. Go Lara!

Being the mom of an elite athlete, I know that even the little things can upset everything, let alone the big things. Lara has accomplished so much, I know that the Lord has everything in control and I hope that Lara knows that, too. I pray for the three of you and will continue to do so. I think of Lara gaining a spot on the team as a walk-on, being inducted into the Hall of Fame, getting so close to going to the Olympics, her travels this last year and all of her other accomplishments – she truly is a gifted athlete. I wish nothing but the best for her in the future.
